The Interdisciplinary Research Center (IRC) was founded in September 2013 by Professor Baoquan Chen, focusing mainly on emerging technology pertaining to visual sensing and communication. Visuals represent the main channel through which humans, or their robotics agents, understand and maneuver through their living environment and interact with each other. IRC brings together disciplines such as computer graphics, computer vision, human-computer interaction (HCI), visualization, and machine learning. Big data, VR (virtual reality) & AR (augmented reality), 3D printing, Robotics, etc, are not simply bandwagons we jump on, but the vehicle we ride with towards a changing world.
